BOLD STROKES BOOKSe-BooksWhat Reviewers Say About The AuthorsKarin Kallmaker“Kallmaker has a sure sense of the power of language and of thepower of eros. The two are combined in scenes that left me gasping...with pleasure.†– Bay Area Reporter“Kallmaker does not disappoint anyone expecting sex on everypage. It’s there; it’s hot; it’s imaginative; and the bonus is that it’swell-written and well, entertaining . †– Lambda Book Report“Kallmaker adds plenty of heart-stopping, toe curling, multiorgasmic sex to her erotic repertoire.†–Bay Windows“Kallmaker’s characters are engaging, her sex scenes are intense—she’s the lesbian hybrid of Joyce Carol Oates and Danielle Steele.â€â€“Book MarksRadcly ffe“Change of Pace: Erotic Interludes…is…not only about sex, butalso about love, longing, lust, surprises, chance meetings, plannedmeetings, fulï¬ lling wild fantasies, and trust. Radclyffe is masterful atwrapping subtle plots, inspired settings, and entertaining charactersaround an incredible variety of hot sex scenes.†– Midwest BookReviewIn Sweet No More...“Radclyffe then takes the reader into thedarkened corners of a BDSM world and blends male terminologywith female anatomy in a disconcerting meld of the boldest andmost brutal sexuality.†–Eroticarevealed.com“Radclyffe can write…sex scenes, so hot, fresh, and so alive that thescenes radiate off the page.†–Lambda Book Report“Another form of transgression can be about the connections weform that defy societal expectations…like the woman headed to asex club who wants to shed her sweet image in Radclyffe’s story.â€â€“Best Lesbian Erotica, 2008IN DEEPWATERS 2Cruising the StripbyRADCLY f FE &KARIN KALLMAKER2008IN DEEP WATERS 2: CRUISING THE STRIP©2008 RADCLYFFE AND KARIN KALLMAKER. Everything about In Deep Waters 1:Cruising the Seas (Bella Books, 2007) from the ï¬ rst page to the last, was fun, creatively challenging, and satisfying. What more could anauthor want? Well, I wanted to do it all again—and luckily, so didKarin (which is a very good thing, because we’d already promisedour respective publishers one volume each before we’d even set sailthe ï¬ rst time). I think we both worried a little bit more on the maidenvoyage because what if we didn’t get along? What if we couldn’tconcur on a story order? What if, gasp, we couldn’t agree as to whowas on top (or not)? As it turned out, we had no trouble either timenegotiating a more than satisfying arrangement regarding scenes, accoutrements, and accessories (and who got to play with whatwhen). Vegas is one of my favorite cities and thanks to Karin, it isnow one of my favorite literary haunts. Many thanks to Cindy Cresap for forging a whole from twentyfour selections by two authors with different voices, different rhythms, and different styles. An anthology with multiple authors is far easierto edit because the individual selections are not as intimately relatedas they were designed to be in this collection. Thank you, Cindy, formaking this such a rewarding literary threesome.Barb Kiwak and Sheri deserve kudos for the outstandingartwork, frontispiece and cover, respectively. And lastly and most especially, to the readers, thanks for joiningus in Vegas, and no matter what your pleasure, I hope you have asmuch enjoyment in the reading as we did in the writing.— Radcly f fe, January 2008Karin Kallmaker’s AcknowledgmentsIf you really enjoy something, I recommend doing it at leasttwice, especially if it involves partnering up with someone whoselove of the results matches your own.Working with Radclyffe is like ï¬ nding the perfect partnerfor tennis—one challenging enough to get you out of your ownzone, leading to the mutual goal of a fantastic volley based oncomplementary strengths. For this anthology, she lobbed balls overthe net and waited patiently to see if I could return service. When Idid, ooo, baby, did we have fun!Having collaborated before on In Deep Waters 1, we spent lesstime making sure we were in sync and more time just plain playing.I hope readers are as amused and excited as I am by the results.Any resemblance of our characters to persons living are purelycoincidental. Let’s just say that I suspected Radclyffe of having atwisted and inspired sense of humor, and I wasn’t wrong.Speaking of characters, several of mine from previous worksmake an appearance in this volume. With a librarian’s convention intown, “Twenty-One†of course makes Marian and Liddy from OneDegree of Separation a natural choice. Brandy and Tess of “Lucky7â€ ï¬ rst appeared in All the Wrong Places. “Lucky 7†continues thestoryline from “Cruising Solo†in the ï¬ rst In Deep Waters. AuthorCarolyn and her agent Alison, from Paperback Romance, areattending the romance writer’s convention, reaping the rewards ofï¬ fteen years’ pride in “Payout.â€Though I want to say that such stories, and the few otheraffectionate jokes in this volume, are all for the readers, honestydemands that I admit that I love revisiting my old friends. I trulyhope that readers enjoy the results as much as I do.Gambling is often compared to the risks of love andrelationships. I’m not sure why, since inherently gambling meanssomeone loses and someone wins, and the odds are always lopsided. So while we play with the metaphor, it is fl awed. In practice, writingwith Radclyffe about gambling, love, and sex deï¬ es the metaphorcompletely, because everyone comes out a winner.— Karin, January 2008CONTENTSFOLLOWING SUIT 13Radcly f feFULL HOUSE 23Radcly f feWHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS... 33Karin KallmakerSNAKE EYES 53Karin KallmakerLET IT RIDE 63Radcly f feTHREE OF A KIND 73Karin KallmakerLUCKY 795Karin KallmakerTOP-BOTTOM TICKET 107Karin KallmakerSWITCH HANDS 119Radcly f feDEALER’S CHOICE 129Radcly f feTWENTY-ONE 139Karin KallmakerNO LIMIT 149Radcly f feHARD TEN 159Radcly f feDOUBLE DOWN 171Radcly f feUPPING THE ANTE 181Karin KallmakerINSURANCE 191Karin KallmakerON THE HOUSE 201Radcly f feBETTING BLIND 213Radcly f feALL IN 225Radcly f fePAYOUT 237Karin KallmakerSOLITAIRE 243Karin KallmakerLUCK ON THE RIVER 249Radcly f feWINNING HAND 259Karin...
